David Hamilton is an award winning self taught artist residing on a rural property in Goolwa, South Australia, where he operates out of a studio/workshop.

David has been working full time as a metal work artist since 1998 and copper is his main medium.

Using mainly hand tools, he stretches and shapes the copper to form pieces which are then soldered together to make a finished sculpture. He is inspired by the natural world. All of the work in his portfolio can be commissioned and as each piece is handcrafted no two pieces will be exactly the same. Each new piece will have its own character.

His work is currently being sold at ARTWORKX gallery and gifts in Goolwa, artworxgallery.com.au. Alternatively, David can be contacted via the Contact Us page regarding commissions.

“I hope my sculptures encourage people to be aware of and enjoy nature as I do. Some of my career highlights include being a Waterhouse finalist in 2008 and 2011; and the winner of the best indoor sculpture in 2013 and 2014 at the Brighton Jetty Sculptures exhibition”
